The Beach.

And even at her happiest

On a bright and sunny day

She is holding back the heartache

The way the sky holds the clouds at bay

She is learning to be trusting

That the sun will rise once more

And trying to let go

Like the sea lets go the shore

And if the tide returns to her

Then her fears be laid to rest

And perhaps you might find her heart

A hidden treasure chest

She can’t promise to be open

Or believe the waves return

Unless you show her once again

She’s still got a lot to learn

And if you can be patient

Know you’ve got a lot to teach

But loving her could be as calm

As a day spent at the beach
